N-Control Summer Series

What Is It?

Throughout the summer of 2006, N-Control will hold a points series. Twelve weekend races (Friday or Saturday nights) will count toward the series, with entrants counting their best 6 races in the final points tally. At the end of the series -- whenever we've gotten in 12 races! -- trophies will be awarded based on official points scored.

Important note: the points series is optional, and counted within standard race days. Everyone racing will not be counting towards the summer series, and you don't have to be a series racer (nor race the series on that particular day) to come enjoy a fine day of racing.

How Does It Work?

Fees are simple. To count in the points series on a given race day, the racer pays an additional $5 Series Fee per counting car. The fee goes straight to awards. Points are awarded only to racers/cars with paid Series Fee for the day. You can't wait until you finish well and then pay the fee!

Points start at 100, awarded to the top finisher racing the series that day, in that class. Second place gets 98, third gets 96, and so on. At the end of the series, each racer tallies their six best finishes to reach their point total. Each class will have trophies for top three.. nice ones!

Points from additional races serve two purposes. Each class will award a Points Monster trophy to the racer with the most total points, counting all 12 races. This will be a trophy on par with the First Place award, so it's a BIG deal! Also, should there be any ties in primary scoring, they will be broken by adding each participant's next best race to their totals until the tie is cleared.

The Summer Series will run classes based on interest. Expert and Sportsman Buggy and Unlimited Monster Truck are pretty well guaranteed, but Standard Monster Truck and the 2WD classes need more racers! Final class determination for series counting will be made following the second series race, and Series Fees paid in any class not running will be returned.
